| Bob Cargill's Web Site Devoted Entirely To My 1997 Dodge Ram (LEMON) 1500 4X4 Pickup Truck: |
| There is no doubt in my mind that Dodge has built some of the worst Pickup trucks on the road today!
| I have owned my 1997 Ram 1500 4X4 since July of 1997. I purchased it used with 19,000 miles on it, I should have suspected some abnormalities with it from the day I bought it, the Tires were wearing uneven! The front two tires were wore bad on the outside, The two rear tires were worn bad on the inside (at 19,000 miles?) and the truck shimmed while driving. (Three sets of tires later it still shimmies).

| At 72,000 miles the TRANSMISSION fried! I had to have the Trans completely rebuilt at my expense! |
| At 95,000 miles the REAR END fried! I had to have the rear end completely rebuilt at my expense! |
| I now have 110,000+ miles on the truck and a few days ago I was driving home after dark and the headlights QUIT working! I could not get them to come on at all! |
| The Headlight Switch is FRIED! and they want $150+ to fix that! |
| I live in the country and believe me when I say when it gets dark IT'S DARK I had to drive over 50 miles with Fog Lights through a narrow winding gorge! |
| I am a Handicapped driver with only one leg and I drive and brake with my left foot. I must have transportation that I can depend on and I try to maintain them.accordingly in order to avoid breakdowns on the road as I cannot walk any great distance without difficulties. For the first time in my life I own a vehicle that I cannot depend on and do not trust on the road because something could go wrong at any time and leave me stranded!. |
| I know several other people that own Dodge Trucks and they have had problems with, Motors clacking, Transmission failure both Automatic and 5 speed Manual, Headlight Switch failure, Automatic Door locks, 4 Wheel Drive engaged lights don't go off, Armrest's that crack and break, etc. |
| What's the matter Dodge, can't you guys build a truck that is worth what we have to pay for them or what? I would never buy another Dodge Truck! |
| I have owned several Chevrolet Trucks since I started driving in 1957 and I've never had one problem with any of them in fact I still have a 1976 Chevy 4X4 that I bought new that I still depend on and drive when the DODGE goes DOWN! Do You Dodge boys know the saying, |
| What happened to those GOOD GUYS |

Updates and Additions:
12/31/00 I wonder how many people remember back when in the early 1980's Chrysler almost filed Bankruptcy and they asked the Federal Government for help. They asked them to help the company out with their financial difficulties. We, the American Taxpayers, wound up Bailing out Chrysler and saved the company from extinction ! They have since shown their Gratitude by not only Selling out to Daimler Corporation but by supplying the people that saved the company with second-rate Automobiles! Some Thanks.

This Piece of CRAP now has 119,000+ on it and the Rear End that was rebuilt at 95,000 and a cost of $1600 is fried again! What is it going to take to get Dodge to admit that they cannot build a reliable truck and are just screwing the public! If you are considering buying a new Truck DO NOT even consider a Dodge because you will be very sorry, Check out the new Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty series on the Chevrolet Truck link, now thats a truck. My 1976 Chevy short wide 4x4 is still going and still dependable!

Since This truck is such a piece of junk and I am afraid to drive it for fear of breaking down and being stranded somewhere I have put my old 1976 Chevy 4x4 back on the road and you know what I would trust it to go just about anywhere. That says a lot about Dodge trucks when I can trust a 1976 Chevy truck rather than their 1997!
UPDATE: 10/31/01
Well I finally had it with this piece of JUNK! I will never buy a Chrysler product again as long as I live. This 1997 Dodge 1500 RamJunk was so bad that I could not even trade it in for ANY kind of vehicle, no one wanted it at all with the track record it has, so I practically gave it away to get rid of the headaches. I have invested $24,000 plus unknown $1,000's for repair and I would have been better off donating this money to a worthy cause as it did me no good whatsoever. Dodge has never acknowledged me in any way and that says a lot about them, I hear that they are in trouble again, I hope the American people are smart enough this time not to bail them out, for we will get even worse vehicles from them.... I will leave this web site up and running so that some of you may find it and it will prevent you from making the same mistake that I and many people have made by buying a ChryslerJUNK...........
Plain and Simple: Daimler Chrysler Builds JUNK
UPDATE 10/22/02:
