1/6th SCALE HEAD SWAPS

Head Swaps (a.k.a What Fits Where?):

1. The HOF heads will fit on the CC bodies (and vice-versa). This quick & easy modification is done by warming up the head to make the plastic more pliable, then twisting and pulling until the head comes off. Installation is just about as easy. You can make the head installation even easier by carefully trimming some of the plastic from the mounting hole, opening it up just enough to help the installation. Doing the head swap modification will allow you to have multiple head sculpts on a well articulated body. Some ways of warming the head are dipping it in hot water, heating with a hair dryer, or leaving the figure in a hot car on a summer day! Just be careful and don't hurt yourself or melt the head! Also, the early HOF flocked heads will lose their hair if you use water!!!

2. HOFA, IAM, and SLU heads are all interchangeable. Installation is same as HOF/CC modification. Lots of people like to put the HOFA heads on the SLU bodies to make a well articulated replica of the vintage Joes.

3. Vintage, Elite, and ME heads are interchangable.

MORE DIFFICULT SWAPS

4. You can fit the HOF and CC heads onto vintage-style figures by cutting open the bottom of the neck where the original mounting hole is. You enlarge the opening enough to fit the head onto the larger vintage-style post. This is a one-way swap!!!

5. You can fit the vintage-style heads onto the HOF-style posts (much smaller) by wrapping a large rubber band around the post, then friction fitting the head onto the rubber band. This does not work if the figure will get played with, but is acceptable for display purposes.  Another idea is to go to your friendly hardware store and find a rubber "O" ring that will fit over the mounting post and allow for the friction fit of the head onto it.  I haven't tried this idea yet, so I don't know if any "O" rings will meet this criteria.
