PAINTING TIPS
by Rob Sorrels
QuickTips : painting
1. Painting - before painting, scrub the item with dishwashing soap and an old toothbrush. This will remove any mold release agent and finger oils that will cause the paint to have problems adhearing.
2. Painting soft plastics - use acrylics! The soft plastics have an agent in them to keep them soft. That agent also will not let enamel paints dry!
3. Painting hard plastic - OK to use enamels (model paints) or acrylics.
4. Painting - after you finish painting, spray the item with a clear overcoat. This will smooth out the item and make it look more "factory" in appearance. You can choose from flat, gloss, and semi-gloss. I like the semi-gloss, but try 'em all and see which you like best.
