| Before you make your webpage
you should read through some of these tips. They could end up making your webpage the best
it can be. CONTENT - Make sure you have something at your
webpage that anyone could be interested in going to for! That means have a topic that has
a wide range of viewers or followers. For instance CNET.com
has lots of great content that anyone would be interested in seeing.
NAVIGATION
- Have easy and simple navigation all throughout your site. A simple navigational bar is
great and be sure to have it on everypage of your site, so your viewers can goto any part
of your site at any time. Frames are also a good way of doing that but a quick tip: Frames
are going out of style and fast. Checkout some of the major commercial sites; you don't
see frames anywhere. Frames are still good but major surveys have shown interent surfers
dislike frames.
HTML
- The HTML on your site matters alot. Simple sites are good but being to simple is very
dull to the viewer and they may leave your site. Be sure you know a great deal of HTML
before you make your site and make sure your site HTML error free before you put it on the
net. If you have no knowledge of HTML you can learn the basics HERE.
GRAPHICS
- All sites need eyecatching graphics to attract the user. Be sure though you make the
graphics as small as they possibly can be. Long loading times make the user frustrated and
they'll leave your site trying to wait for your graphics to load up. Also use graphics
that actually go with your page. I have seen on some pages people have animated skulls on
they're fonts page just because they think he skull is cool. Just keep graphics within the
content of your page. A great program to make graphics is Adobe
Photoshop but it's expensive. |
