Timothy Britten Parker:  I knew the real Gordon, a friend of Jonathan's who died of AIDS.  When we did Superbia at the Village Gate, he worked with costumes and did various other things backstage.  That's also how I met Pam, who I later went out with, and who also died of AIDS.  It's less that I feel I have a responsibility to portray Gordon and more to show the pain and hurt of his being gone.  His point of view in the support group is an important one, because everyone else is so accepting, one day at a time, no regrets, and Gordon says "F*ck that, I have lots of regrets."  These moments in RENT have become meaningful, powerful moments, landmarks of my life.
