Rigbuster spent ages 12 to 25 on a variety of drug induced stupor provided courtesy of the neighborhood pushers. On his 26th birthday, things changed. Rigbuster overdosed on a mixture of pure heroin and toxic chemicals that were meant to dilute the drug. Fourteen other people died that day but the drugs and chemicals changed Rigbuster instead of killing him. His body became faster, stronger and tougher. He knew he survived for a purpose. He wandered into a Reverend Farrakhan meeting and found Allah. He knew he had to rid the streets of the scum that caused his own "death".

A "rig" is the equipment junkies use to inject their drugs. Now "clean" he has sworn vengeance on pushers and uses his abilities to break to poisonous influence of drugs on his community.
