title:  A Legionary Villain
Earthguard:  Corona, Cyclotron, Darkwar, Marvel, Star-Scanner
heroes:  Ran-Darr
opponents:  Composite Superman
Action:  Again having information that Earthguard(r) is away from their headquarters (see last issue), the Composite Superman breaks into their headquarters.  This time Earthguard(r) has returned from and is prepared for a fight.  With the help of Ran-Darr, Earthguard(r) fights the Composite Superman to a standstill.  With neither side able to win this battle, Composite Superman withdraws threatening to return.

title:  We Found Some of the Stolen Missiles
Earthguard:  Marvel, Phase, Star-Scanner
heroes:  Speedster, Lycosa
opponents:  Dr. Destroyer, Raccoon, Puma, Mace, Hideous, Fallout
Action:  The United States Government reports that of the over 400 pounds of missing Plutonium and the several dozen missing missiles in the Government's arsenal, they have managed to location three of those missiles.  Earthguard(r) is sent do Dr. Destroyer's island and disable the missiles before they can be launched.
     Expecting some type of assault, Dr. Destroyer is waiting.  Unfortunately for him, his group is not up to the Earthguard(r) challenge.  Settling an old score, Marvel knocks out Hideous and disarms the warheads and stops the missiles from being fired.  The rest of the group is subdued and rounded up in short order.

Action:  Three Visarian supervillians are encountered by Star-Scanner and Stellar Force.  Not yet acclimated to Earth, the three villains are wrapped up and sent back to Visar and prison.

Action:  Captain Midnight discovers that MI-6 had discovered his new identity.  He enlists the help of Kalindor and the two try to solve the riddle of who in MI-6 wants Captain Midnight and why.

Action:  Earthguard(r) battles the Freedom Federation.

title:  The Super-Skrull's Revenge

Action:  Marvel is showing Ran-Darr and Python some of the new equipment installed recently in the Earthguard(r) headquarters when she accidentally releases the Super-Skrull  from his prison in earth's orbit.  Teleported in the midst of the heroes, Marvel makes it impossible for the Super-Skrull to attack any of the heroes while the other heroes force him back through the teleporter and back into his orbital prison.

Action:  Superboy bring Colossal Boy from the Legion of Superheroes back to the 20th century.  While there, the heroes are attacked and subdue the villains.

Action:  The three Visarian villains managed to escape captivity and are caught trying to teleport an army of criminal from Visar to Earth to take over the planet.  The heroes defeat the villains and destroy the teleporting equipment.  The X-men come looking for mutants (like Aqueous).

title:  Battleclan's East Coast Adventure

opponents:  Battleclan
Action:  Three visiting European scientists are asked to be guarded by Aqueous and Kalindor.  They are eminent nuclear scientists and the Battleclan, after several west coast failures, feels kidnapping the scientists will move them into the big leagues.  Marvel and Wartiger learn from the Pacific Guardians that Battleclan is on the east coast and soon find them planning their attack.  Planning on two heroes, the villains are hopelessly under powered to take on the additional Earthguard(r) members.  While Wartiger make sure the scientists are safe, the other three heroes make sure the Battleclan's trip to prison is comfortable.

title:  Mastermind's Stupid Plan

opponents:  Mastermind as Magneto
Action:  Mastermind isolates Captain Marvel Junior and Blok and, intent on killing them both, attacks.  Unfortunately for Mastermind, the Egyptian Gods Seeker and Halthor have befriended Earthguard(r) and quickly put an end to Mastermind's murderous plan.

Opponents:  Ronan the Accuser, Den-Rann, Ran-Darr
Others:
Action:  Court finally is in session for Star-Scanner's attack on the Kree scout ship (see issue 57).  Ronan the Accuser, hired and paid by the prosecution, sits in judgment.  No pretense at a fair trial is held and Star-Scanner is found guilty.  Ran-Darr is assigned as bailiff for Star-Scanner and report any infractions back to the court.  Ronan also judges that all Kree and Skrulls on Earth without prior approval will face corporal punishment.

title:  The Ultimate Warrior

opponents:  Asunder, Nuke-Man, Quantum, Gazelle, Strong Man
Action:  The villains attempt to steal an atomic separator for their own evil ends.  Earthguard(r) is called to stop the theft and during the fight the separator is activated and Darkwar steps in front of the beam.  Both sides stand back to see what happened, and to the villains bad luck, two Darkwars appear; one as Rann Thurstar and the other as the Ultimate Darkwar.  The Ultimate Warrior defeats the villains single handed but is in turn subdued by Earthguard(r).  It is felt he is too dangerous to remain separated so they rejoin the two selves.

opponents:  Flame Snakes of Apep
Action:  The Egyptian Gods and Sumo investigate an ancient, abandoned temple of Apep.  With the entrance of the Egyptians, the temple comes to life and four Flame Snakes of Apep appear to protect their master.  Seker is injured by the venom but the combined force is enough to kill the snakes and send them back to hell.

title:  Hyperactive-Man's Bad Day

heroes:  Hyperactive-Man, Andros 8, Crossbow
opponents:  Thrasher, Wrecker
Action:  Hyperactive-Man and Backfire are hired to guard the dedication of a nuclear power plant.  Unfortunately Backfire is out of town.  Hyperactive-Man asks for help from some friendly rivals Andros 8 and Crossbow who, not having any other work, accept.  Marvel shows up at the detective agency saying she was in the neighborhood.  In a matter of a few minutes she makes a pass at Hyperactive-Man.  Surprised, Hyperactive-Man rebuffs her and sets off for the power plant.  Embarrassed, Marvel comes along in an attempt to apologize.
     During the dedication, the crowd is attacked by Thrasher and Wrecker.  Crossbow is pounded, Marvel injured and Hyperactive-Man is blinded before the villains are forced to retreat.



A-Team Adventures #21   ng

title:  Night of the Sentinels

Action:  A-Team is ambushed by Sentinel Robots.  One robot is destroyed but by the time the dust clears, Sumo has been captured.  As the robot flies off, Giant Robot is alerted and intercepts and frees Sumo.

Action:  Earth II villains attack the Niagara Falls resort.  Earthguard(r) is sent to defeat the villains who prove much tougher than first thought.  Reports in several New York gossip magazines link Corona and Marvel as "dating".  No comments are made by the heroes.

others:  Javelin
Action:  Hammond takes over Earthguard(R).  Javelin, near death, stumbles into Earthguard(r) headquarters to warn them that Xandu has the wand of Watoomb and is controlling Scarlet Witch and Wartiger.  While Marvel negates Scarlet Witch and Wartiger, Phase and Star-Scanner concentrate fire on Xandu.  Stunned, Corona flies over and removes the Wand of Watoomb from his hands.  Now seven on two, the villains surrender.

title:  Separated But Not Alone

opponents:  Pegasus agents, Wraith
Action:  Sumo, still in New York, is attacked by Pegasus agents and a super being named Wraith.  Unfortunately for Pegasus, he was on his way to meet Earthguard(r) who comes and, although outnumbered five to one, succeeds in subduing the villains.  Phase accidentally kills one of the agents.


A-Team Adventures #47   dj

title:  From Hand to Mouth
heroes:  Sumo, Shigi, Kyoto, Giant Robot, Palomar, Shirigiku
opponents:  Famine, Hand
Action:  Famine enlists the help of several Hand agents to extract revenge on A-Team for banishing his brothers from Earth (see issue #18).  Standing nearly 40 feet tall, he faces off with Giant Robot.  Giant Robot, immune to most of Famine's attacks succeeds in driving the demon from the battlefield.  The Hand agents show better for themselves but in the end are also defeated.  During the battle Timushi's sister killed.

Title:  Terrax Says No!

Action:  After heated debate, Darkwar is elected leader of Earthguard(r), following Star-Scanner to that position.  Soon after, Earthguard(r) is confronted by Terrax the Tamer.  The former herald of Galactus is seeking revenge against Hyperactive-Man, Backfire and Wartiger after his earlier defeat at their hands (see Hyper-Backfire, Detectives issue #).  Corona separates Terrax from his cosmic ax, which gives Earthguard(r) the opportunity to subdue Terrax with the help of Falstaff.  Nova, Galactus' present herald, tracks down the subdued Terrax and takes him away, but leaves the depowered ax with Earthguard(r).

Action:  Force, still working for Burt Wallace, is alerted that Mr. Wallace was captured.  While searching for clues, he, Matrix, Whitefire and Lodestone discover that someone is planning to blow up Earthguard(r) headquarters.  They notify Earthguard(r) who discovers the basement to the building filled with dynamite and the Silver Samurai and Viper about to light the fuse.

Title:  Can We Now Put You Down as a Reference?

opponents:  Silver Samurai, Viper
Action:  The villains are driven from the basement and the explosives disarmed.  Force has several ideas where the villains may be and the group checks them out.  The first stop is the jackpot.  Silver Samurai defeats several heroes before he himself is defeated.  Marvel and Wartiger try to stop Viper but she manages to escape.

Action:  Welder, Silent Death and Omi-Devil are hired to kill Marvel.  In the fight, Marvel is almost killed but refuses to give up.  Silent Death, impressed by Marvel, gives Blok the address of their employers.  They get the help of Speedster and find Laser, Armadillo and agents.  Sunburst captures Speedster, Laser is captured, and accidentally has his hand "shattered" by Marvel, and Armadillo jumps in the ocean to escape.
     (Aside:  Due to excessive force, Laser was released and was learning to fire his gun with his left hand.)

Action:  Marvel scouts out the villains' headquarters and asks Blok to go to Earthguard(r) headquarters and bring everyone he can find.  He returns in short order with Wartiger and Superboy who are filled in on the situation.  With surprise on their side, the heroes win but manage to capture only Sunburst and Radium.  Speedster is released unharmed.

Action:  Hellrover and his gang are caught extorting "protection" money from businesses.  They are beaten but manage to escape.  Captain Marvel Junior quits Earthguard(r).

Others:  Wartiger, Wartiger's school of Cheng Su Do
Action:  Marvel notices Wartiger is concerned about something that he will not tell to the other members of Earthguard(r).  Unable to get a suitable response from Wartiger, she decides to join his martial arts studio in disguise to find out more about Wartiger and maybe help solve his problem.
     A jewelry store across the street from Earthguard(r) is robbed and several team members decide to help in the investigation.  While investigating the robbery, Marvel ends up framed for murder by Taskmaster.  Before Marvel is taken into custody, She, Superboy, Speedster and Blok discover that the frame-up is a plot of Crimson Dynamo and Rasputin, a person who seems to have some of the abilities of his namesake.   The heroes manage to find evidence to clear Marvel after battling the villains, but only Crimson Dynamo is captured.  (He is deported to Russia.)
