 Mercenary
Little is know about Mercenary's background. What is known is that he never took second place in anything. Fighting crime and heroing soon bored the adventurous Mercenary and when the Russians offered him the leadership of his own team of superheroes, he jumped at the chance. This was his opportunity to prove he was not only the best at his craft, but also the best leader, lover, international celebrity and all things fell into place for him.
Mercenary is well trained, as is his team, and he is rarely surprised by anything their opponents send his way. He is rarely rash and will always take the opportunity to reduce the number of opponents, realizing that his team is at its best when several members can attack one opponent. He likes to make deals, especially from a position of strength and likes to test his team against others.
As the official United Nations team, his favorite tactic is to trump up charges against his opponents and then "arrest" them. Mercenary can always be found at special events and is a media hound. He is also cold, cruel and calculating in combat. If embarassed, he will not hesitate in killing the offending party. He also can usually be counted on to keep his word, if he gives it.
