Sumo

Both of Sumo's parents were born in the early 1940's to good samurai families, one in Nagasaki, the other in Hiroshima. They were both orphaned in 1945 and although they both survived the atomic blasts, their yound bodies were exposed to the strange radiation. They met in Tokyo during the 1960's and their only child's early years were uneventful. However, when he reached puberty, Mura Kiyama began to grow rapidly and developed an interest in sumo wrestling. After much early success, Mura was asked to leave the sumo ranks when they discovered his mutant abilities. The evil organization Pegasus had also noticed they young wrestler and tried to capture him for their own team. Government agents twarted the Pegasus plan but in the ensuing firefight, both of Mura's parents were killed. Permanently changing his name to Sumo he swore vengence upon Pegasus and to use his mutant abilities for the benefit of Japan.

Sumo's mutant metabolism has made his body incredibly dense. The cells convert any excess energy into a form of quasi-matter that is stored evenly throughout his body. The quasi-matter has many beneficial effects including learning from those types of attacks that injure Sumo and build resistence to those types of attacks in the future.
