Kentucky Country Ham

Country hams can be somewhat of work to prepare.  But nothing can beat the flavor of one.  Try it you'll like it!

1 bottle Coca-Cola
1 bottle ginger ale
1 cubed apple
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. vinegar
2 to 3 bay leaves
2 to 3 stalks celery
water

1. Completely cover the ham with water mixture
2. Let come to a rolling boil.
3. Turn heat to low, just so the water ripples
4. Cook 20 minutes to the pound.
5. When the bone is loose, turn off the heat and let it remain in the water  overnight.
6. Take the ham out of the water and remove the skin.
7. Mark fat in squares, stud with cloves and arrange pineapple, cherries  and brown sugar over
    the ham.
8. Place in oven and leave for about 30 minutes at 300 degrees. (This is  the way the ham was
prepared for the Governor's breakfast in the Nunn  administration.)
