Not
too much to report right now. I've started dabbling with programming
again lately. Wrote a few nifty little programs.(math ones just in
case I don't feel like using a calculator ;)
I've been working on the maps a lot lately.
Got my submission for the "Best of the Net" contest in. I didn't
win, but I was up there. :) I've got lots of ideas for
maps for the next unit. The maps for "Event Horizon: Preface" are
coming along quite nicely. Just have to finish up a few things, then
we'll just be waiting for the new weapons. Expect to see a release
within a few weeks. We may forgoe on the weapons for the first unit
if worse comes to worst. I'm also doig a few maps on a project with
a few friends from the Quake
II Workshop mailing list. Hal9000 and a few others.
It's going to be a new CTF mod for Q2 based on Zoid's original CTF code.
Called, " Kurtz's CTF
" Gonna be a kool mod. Got a few new power ups planned, and
6-8 new maps for your enjoyment. :) That's all for now.
Keep an eye out real soon for a release.

Wow, it's been a while since this happened. An Update! :0 Sorry for the lack of updates. Been REAL busy with RL. You know how the college life goes. Exams, studying, and all that "other" stuff that i won't mention here. :) Lots of changes in the Event Horizon Project. Instead of just releasing one PC for Quake2, We will remain as a design team. We will release 3 or 4 level units periodically. Should be real cool. We got a few mentions of interest for the mapping positions we are so avidly seeking. Keep them coming! We could use 2 or 3 more mappers to get this thing rolling a bit faster. So, expect to see a unit "real soon now". I've got most of the maps complete, and I'll probably post some new screen shots of the work. Now, pretty much all we are waiting on is the models, and programming for the weapons. We will be including the following weapons in the first unit released by the Event Horizon design team:
Deatomizer (ala MIB)
Laser Grenades
Rail Grenades(different from the ones in WHack)
Buzzsaw Gun.
Lots of fun stuff. More
new weapons will be added in the future releases. Updates will be
much more frequent now, as I'm slowing getting out of the RL crush.

Another
advance in the PC happened over the past few days. We have decided
to include a few DM only levels in the
conversion. I got bored yesterday racking
my brain over the single player levels, so i decided to throw together
a DM map.
It came out really well. Iy only took me
about 4 hours to throw it together. Of course i still have some tweaks
to do, but it's
pretty much all done. I'll post some screenshots
of it tommorow. I had forgotten how quick and easy it is to put together
a
DM map. :) So look for roughly 3-5
DM maps to be included with the PC.

Not
too much to report as of late. Just went to a little nert party at
a friend's house. We played some Quake II. Played on
one of our level for the PC. Things have
slowed down a bit, but they're still creeping tho :) Weggot some
new ideas for weapons while
at the net party. Storyline developement
should start soon. We yhave some ideas of what to make the storyline,
but nothin' real solid.
More work on the levels is gonna start happeneing.
Level production is gonna kick inot HIGH gear real soon. More screenshots
may be
posted within the next week or so. Maybe
we'll post some of the screenshots of the new weapons actually in the game.
Keep an eye out.

More advances in the PC are coming along. We now have one of the
new weapons all done. We have some more coming too.
We have decided to try to replace all the weapons
in Q2 for our conversion. It is a pretty hefty task, but i think
we'll be able to pull it off.
Now that we have Gripp doing the programming
for our weapons, the only other matter, is the modeling, and the skins
for the models.
It's gonna be tough to come up with weapons and
models kool enough to replace id's originals. Work on the levels
is continuing at a pretty
rapid pace. Things are coming along quite
nicely. I'm going to estimate a release date of somewhere around
the end of February. We'll keep
you posted.

Sorry about the lack of updates
on the page. Been busy with relatives over the New Year holiday :)
We have still been at work tho.
Still at work to bring you the best(and first), Quake II PC.
We now have 3 levels coming for the PC. The first unit is nearly
complete. We have
one of the new weapons programming in progress. Thanx to Gripp
for the programming. And the two new weapon models are all done.
The
only thing left for the new weapons is the skins for the modeling,
and a little programming. We may release the intro level just to
give you an idea
of what to expect. Keep an eye on the page under the files section
for that. Ne screen shots should be coming within the next few days.

The
project has finally picked up some momentum. We now have the first
level of the conversion complete, and work on the others has begun.
New Screenshots
up in the files section. Go Check them out! Keep an eye on
the page for updates. We now have 2 weapons in the works.
See screenshots of them also in the
Screenshots section.

I hope
everyone had a good X-mas. I know i did. Gettin' me 64 more
megs of ram....WOO HOO!!!! More editing power.
The first level is just about done. Just
a few minor tweaks here, and a few bugs to work out, and that'll be out
of the way. I'd like
to welcome uRiDiAN
to the Event Horizon team. He will be doing the new weapons, and
skins for the weapons, and maybe a few
new skins for the monsters. He will also be doing some sounds
for the new weapons. Good to have you Uridian!

The idea was conceived!
I had toyed around with the idea of doing conversions for Quake, but i
just never had the pacience
to work with the home-made editors out there. Now that Quake
II is here, and id has released ttheir editor....i'm off! Off on
a long
journey that will hopefully bring many good things to the Quake
II community. I have started work on my pc for Quake II. I
hope this to
be the first FULLY functioning Quake II PC. There will be two
units. Each with 4 levels. The storyline is still in the works,
but that should
be coming along soon. Keep an eye posted over here. You
won't be dissapponted in the final product.
