Name:
Spider
Position: Founder/mapper/modeler
Background:
I am a Freshman at the University of Connectitcut in Storrs, CT.
I've been playing Quake for about a year now.
, and i've been playing Quake II since it's been out. I have been
making maps for just about as long a i have been playing.
I got the Aftershock toolbox for the levels and mods, and when i saw that
it came with 2 editors, i thought, "Damn, what
could be kooler than playing on my own maps at the net parties?"
So i picked up editing. I've made roughly 15 maps for
Quake/Quake II. I jumped right into editing Quake II. I couldn't
wait for it to come out just to have all the neat little extras
to play around with. I use QeRadiant for all my editing, and am self
taught in most of the stuff I know about editing. I'm starting
to get into programming now too, so maybe i'll be able to throw a little
programming into this PC too.
Name:
uRiDiAN
Position: Modeler/skinner/maper/sounds
Background: I,
unlike my pals, am still in highschool. I've been playin' 3D
games since i got my 486 DX2/66 w/8 megs of RAM on DOOM I.
Been followin' Quake since the DM test for Quake with no monsters, and
no network support.( a little history :) I have been following
Quake ever since then. As far as my Art background, i have been doing
art my whole life(short as it has been), and within the past 2 years,
I have been doing a lot with puter art, and synthesized music. I
use 3ds MAX, Adobe Photo Shop, for my art. I use ensonique synth
for
sound/music. I have experimented with a little level design.
Mostly DM maps. I also am self taught in pretty much all i know.
Name: Gripp
Position:
Programmer/mapper
Background: I'm a 3rd
Year CS student at Lafayette College in Easton, PA.I've been playing/deathmatching
3D games ever since I played DOOM1 on my 386/16 with 4MB RAM (3 of thatwas
on an ISA card, damnit).
Back in 95/96 (the DOOM2 glory days), you could have found me on ifrag
puttin' the smack down (cuz I was
a freshman, and didn't have anything else better to do, ok?) I didn't
start programming until I was freshman, but
I learned fast. Most of the really useful stuff know is self-taught.
My first cool program was a little Wolfenstein-like
engine I wrote in '96 and justported to Win32/24bit DIB recently.I'm also
just learning OpenGL programming, and
have been messing withthat. I also do maps (grc4beta, grippdm1,and
grippra1 in the #level_design Rocket Arena pack).
I started doing maps back with DOOM2, but my Quake programming started
with Quake2. I exclusively use BSP for mapping,
because it's (arguably) the best, it's free, and Yahn updates regularly,
and actually takes suggestions from users.
