Lie Low
Willow stared at the picture in
her hands as she brushed the tears from her eyes away. Trying to
focus her attention elsewhere she drummed her fingers onto her
desk well looking blindly out the window, blinking back more
tears that threatened to spill.
It had been a month since Oz had come back, since Oz had come
back and tried to reclaim his love, and despite everything Willow
had been a fool and forsaken everyone else's wishes and tried to
start over with him.
~You didn't care about me
So I packed my bags
And left you to wonder
What you could've done better
To make our love stronger
We could have lasted forever and longer~
As much as Willow tried to make things work out she couldn't get
the picture of all the trials and cheating that they had been
threw, from her cheating on him with Xander. Than to finding him
doing the ultimate act with the she-wolf bitch Veruca.
As much as she tried though she couldn't get that trust back
where it should have been. It didn't feel the same as it should
have been, it shouldn't have been how it should be.
~But we'll never know how good it could be
This isn't how it should be~
So here she was looking out blindly into the pouring ran.
She knew she had clung onto something that wasn't there anymore,
if she really admitted back than as she admitted to herself now
she knew that she wasn't in love with him anymore. That spark had
died out, and there was no trust, and without any trust she knew
there could be no love, no future.
~I couldn't laugh
I couldn't cry
I couldn't waste another day
I couldn't live
I couldn't lie low any longer
I couldn't laugh
I couldn't cry
I couldn't waste another day
I couldn't live
I couldn't lie low any longer~
So she left him, she finally did what she should have done when
she discovered all the way back than in that darkened factory
when Cordelia had slipped through the stairs and impaled herself.
She should have taken that sign that if she cheated on him, maybe
it wasn't meant to be.
~Did you ever care about me?
I remember the time
You looked in my eyes and promised
We'd stay together
Our love would grow stronger
The storms we had weathered
Wouldn't last any longer~
Willow now knew why she had clung on; she was scared to be alone.
And he was the first, first guy to come along and show any
interest. She should have known, she should have let go, but what
she could have done now?
The best thing though was she learned and that she grew up from
these events. She knew as she looked into his eyes and said the
words that would forever savor their forever relationship; she
knew she could let go. That she could be stronger, stronger than
what they had, had.
With those words she knew she had found peace, and had finally
let go. She had finally accepted that this wasn't her fate and
that it was time to move on. It wasn't his fault or hers, it just
wasn't meant to be.
~It could've been so good
But there was something else for me~
