Weeping Willow

As always he peered through the window, making sure everything was right. Tonight was different- she was weeping. His beautiful Willow weeping. How much he wanted to comfort her, to hold her against his ice cold heart. He wanted to tell her how much she meant to him, the only one that cared for him. Spike stubbed out a cigarette. He must help her, his anger growing inside of him. How could any one hurt his precious Willow? How could any one make her cry?

Spike knocked on the door. How would she react? Did he have the strength inside him to tell her? Look at him, a vampire, a killer, too scared to tell a human. The door opened. Her red strained eyes looked at him. He held out his arms and she fell into them crying uncontrollably. Spike held Willow tight, stroking her damp red hair, her warm tears searing his own cold skin.

Tell me,” Spike whispered, “tell me everything.”

It’s terrible,” Willow whimpered. "They killed her."

Killed who?”

“She went against them the family they killed her for it and stole her child.”

Spike was very confused. He didn’t know of any one who had had a baby.

“Do you know them personaly?” Spike enquired.

Willow looked up at Spikes concerned face and burst out laughing.

“What? Have I said something funny?”

“It’s a film, silly.” Willow sighed, realising how silly she must look. Spike looked a little sheepish. Well it had broken the ice. "Would you like to come in?”

“Yer, sure, why not?”

“I need a good weepy now and again.” Willow gestured to Spike to sit down. "I need a weepy like you need the bottle when something terrible has happened, helps us get over it.”

Spike sat and watched the slight frame of the red head moving delicately around the room.

“How long have you been watching me?” Willow blurted out.

“Me, watch you? Don’t be so soft! You're human, what would I want to watch a human for?” Spike felt even more embarrassed now. She had known all along and didn’t say anything. "Why didn’t you say anything?” he asked.

“I didn’t want to make you look small in front of everyone, I've only known one vampire to love a human and he had a soul.”

“Love! What makes you think it’s love?”

“I did a spell, a sort of love spell. The one person that loved me would come over tonight, and there you were watching me as usual. I knew it had to be you.”

”But I come over every night. . .tonight wasn’t spell induced, it was me.”

Willow sat down. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Another one of her spells had failed again.

“I wouldn’t need a spell to tell you how much I love you.” Spike said it as quick as he could. He wouldn’t know how she would take it.

Willow looked at Spike. A smile spread across her face.

"You don’t know how good that sounds.”

Willow settled down next to Spike on the lounger. Willow nestled down into him. He was cold but warm at the same time. For once she didn’t care that her spell hadn’t worked.

The tears rolled down his cheeks as he watched Willow in Spike's arms. Xander walked away knowing he would never have the one he loved.
