I'm So Blue
Did you wonder why your Page Up and Page Down buttons change from black to blue? And when they do change, they no longer function the same?
What's going on here?!

If you've used any previous version of Word, stop thinking of these as Page buttons.
This is one of the new features added to Word. Multi-functional browse buttons. You can change the way you browse through your document by clicking on the Select Browse Object button and selecting a different browsing method. This shortcut button is located in the lower right hand corner of your window between the Next and Previous buttons.

Usefulness? On a scale of 1-10, I'd personally give it an 8. This is a nifty feature for someone who edits large documents, but annoying for one who publishes only one or two pages.

Why annoying? When you use the Edit:Find or Edit:Replace command, the function of your Select Browse Object button changes so you can repeat the Find command. This occurs as soon as you click on the Find Next command.

To change the Select Browse Object to its default- browse by page, you must reset it manually.
Click on the Select Browse Object button.
Select the sixth icon in the top row.

What are my browse options? You can browse by: field, endnote, footnote, comment, section,
page, edit, heading, graphic or even table.

Since the Find dialog box inconveniently covers your screen, try this:
After clicking the Find Next button to start the search...
Close the dialog box and use the browse buttons instead!

Tip: To figure out what the pictures represent when you click the Select Browse Object button,
look at the status bar on the pop out list.
