What This Shortcut Avoided

By using the shortcut to change a paragraph style, you avoided becoming severely traumatized by having to work inside of the Styles Dialog box. We go….

Styles are listed on the left hand side of the dialog box.
A preview of the style is shown in the upper right hand and a description of a selected style is given in the lower right.

Here, in the Styles Dialog Box, you make modifications to your style by selecting the style on the left and clicking the Modify button.

Groan. Another dialog box opens. This time, it's the Modify Style dbx. Now you'll need to click on the Format button to select exactly how you'd like to change your style.
