A student must do the minimum number of classes required and the minimum amount of time on their current grade before they can attempt the next grade level. The instructor must be certain that the student has the necessary qualities to attempt their next grading. Anyone that is grading to 4th Kyu (Red Belt) or above MUST be assessed and authorised to attempt the grading by the Senior Regional instructor only.
