Alternative Strokes

The characters listed below can be written using an alternative stroke, which you may find more natural or faster to enter than Graffiti's default strokes.

b  Skip the verticals—just draw a 3.
d  Draw a clockwise circle, starting at the bottom (basically a D without the corners). Overlap the ends for best results.
e  Draw straight-line segments (two <'s stacked vertically).
f  You can start at the bottom, which is more natural.
g  Draw a 6.
l  Draw a really long horizontal part.
o  Draw it big, otherwise you'll get a dot (punctuation lock).
p  Start at the bottom to save a stroke.
r  Start at the bottom to save a stroke.
v  Draw a regular V from right to left, without the hook.
x  Do a swooping loop like a backwards K (keep the stylus down for the whole letter).
y  Start at the upper left, make a clockwise loop, end at the upper right (like an upside-down shortcut stroke).
5  Draw an S (a standard 5 stroke without the corners).

Thanks to Tom Jansing for posting these tips on the mailing list. Please email me if you've discovered a new alternative stroke.
