I teach Physical Education at North Polk Elementary in Louisiana. Our school has 4 pre-school classes, 2 Headstart classes, 15 Kindergarten classes and 15 First grade classes, with over 650 students. I service all of these classes, except for the Headstart (they join in occasionally though). We have one Adapted PE teacher who visits us 3 times a week.

I think it is important for children to learn to enjoy physical activity and to learn skills that will go with them through out their life. In my classes I try to provide a variety of activities that are physically challenging, mentally motivating, emotionally healthy and socially sound. I plan each lesson with the growth and development of each child in mind. I believe a healthy body promotes a healthy and active mind.
