Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera makes a come back with her second album "Stripped." Christina Aguilera made her mark on the music scene with the unforgettable single "Geenie in a bottle" and the self titled album. Christina Aguilera has taken a long time out of the music scene but did take time to collaborate with Pink, Mya and Lil Kim on the hit track "Lady Marmalarde"  Will "Stripped" make up for lost time.

"Can't hold us down" an R&B produced track with subtle beats that are not overly produced and highlight the upfront lyrical content. Christina Aguilera' vocals are the main feature, powerful in delivery. Lil' Kim's rap is not as energetic or controversial as her usual works. A good opener.

"Fighter" an uptempo track with a high octane rock rhythm, where drums and electric guitar are the main instrumental highlights.Christina delivers that coarse forceful vocal. "Infatuation" a track with a Latin flow, rhythmic drum and Spanish guitar fused with a hint of R&B. Christina Aguilera cleverly plays around with contradiction, saying a man will never "Control her emotions" but then saying "Can't help my infatuation". Christina sings with conviction and vocal strength.

Christina Aguilera collaborates with Alicia Keys on the track "Impossible." The track has Alicia Keys signature all over it, in its Motown sound and vocal arrangement, although she doesn't sing on lead vocal. Christina Aguilera though does, and surprises with her vocal range and natural soul.

"Get mine, get yours" is a mid tempo R&B track where string instruments are fused with base synthesizers, the track delivers a catchy hook that oozes sexuality. Christina sings about a no strings attached relationship. "The voice within," a ballad sang with real feeling and emotion, where Christina Aguilera shifts from light airy to forceful higher in pitch vocals with ease. A ballad that tries to empower those who feel vulnerable. A great ballad.

Christina Aguilera' "Stripped" is a more bolder attempt then her previous work, we get a distinctive yet unique vocal sound and style. Christina has incorporated more of an R&B flavour seen through the production, notably "Dirrty" and the soulful "Impossible." We are given further insights into her life, the track "Stronger" tells us that getting hurt can make you stronger and "Impossible" tells of a rocky relationship that is becoming difficult. At the end of the album we are truly enlightened and Christina is seen in a different light. Christina's voice is powerful and full of energy and is reminiscent in places to Mariah Carey of old in her more fruitful years. A great long awaited album.
