Even though the Bee Gees are still going strong, their younger brother, Andy Gibb, is already undisputed heir to their musical throne! Blond, gorgeous, and only 19 years old, Andy has got a smash single on his hands called "I Just Want To Be Your Everything!" His voice and style have been described by friends as "Beagles" -- half Bee Gees and half Eagles! And the terms suits him to a T! The hit single (from his debut LP, Flowing Rivers) is a delightfully swingin', romantic effort that hits its mark. It is superb! But more about Andy!
Born in Manchester, England, Andy spent most of his formative years in Australia. His parents, Hugh and Barbara, were both entertainers, and they set a very good musical example for their children. In all, there are six Gibb children -- Barry, Robin, Maurice (the Bee Gees), Andy, married sister Leslie, and 12-year-old Berri who is still at home. Andy spent a great deal of his spare time tagging around with his older brothers, until inevitably the music world was as much his as it was theirs.
Today, the 5'7", sandy-haired Andy has a place in Hollywood, and spends much of his time performing. Andy plays rhythm guitar, piano, bass, and drums in addition to singing and writing. When he manages some time off, he loves to go scuba diving or play soccer, or motorcross -- that's motorcycle racing over sand. Andy apparently enjoys a bit of risk with his relaxation! But he balances out his hectic days with quiet dinners, and some easy conversation. A bit of Elton John music in the background makes him feel good too! It's during the quiet moments that Andy will tell you that his main goal in life is to be a successful songwriter-singer while preserving his sanity! Andy since Andy's a pretty steady sort, there's no doubt that he'll achieve his goal. Meanwhile, run, don't walk, to your local record dealer and pick up a copy of Flowing Rivers!!
