Since his phenomenal rise to the top of the music scene, Andy has been bombarded with all kinds of questions from fans, so right now, sit down and relax while he talks heart to heart with you about his life and answers some of the questions he's most frequently asked.
Q: Why of all places in the world did you choose Miami as your home?
Andy: I feel in love with Miami when I went there to visit Criteria Studios and record my first album there. It's a relaxed casual atmosphere and my parents and two of my brothers live there now, too.
Q: Do you think your success caused your marriage to Kim to break up?
Andy: As we were splitting up, my record was not #1 at that point. It wasn't a sure thing that it would be a hit at that point. She left me really before all the pressures and everything started happening. There were a long of things going on besides the business. That played a small part in it really. It was just a lot of personal things that built up over the months and I think it was inevitable that we would split whether I became a success or not.
Q: Has your divorce made you reluctant to marry again?
Andy: Yes. It will be a long time before I consider making a commitment like that again.
Q: What do you think of punk rock?
Andy: It doesn't really appeal to me and I think it will be a short-lived thing. I think it's pretty silly, really.
Q: Since The Bee Gees have gotten into the movies, would you consider getting into acting too?
Andy: I'd like to someday. It's an idea I've always played around with but I don't have anything specific planned right now. Right now I'd like to get my roots established as a singer and maybe step into movies in a couple of years or so. I have plenty of time.
Q: A lot of people in the music business get heavily into the drug scene. What do you think about that?
Andy: I tried marijuana once about three years ago and it made me very, very sick so it is a `No-No' for me now. I've seen a lot of talented people get really blown away by that whole scene and I think it's really a shame.
Q: Have your brothers been a big influence on your life?
Andy: Yes, they have. Especially as far as my music goes. I'd like to start establishing my own direction now but I think they will always be a big influence on me.
Q: Do you regret having left school at such a young age?
Andy: I haven't regretted it yet. There are some subjects I could have used some more education in like mathematics, but I could always study subjects independently if I ever wanted to.
Q: Do you think you would have gotten into music if your brothers hadn't already been performers?
Andy: I love music very much and I think quite probably I would have.
Q: What kind of girls are you attracted to?
Andy: There's no one special look or type, but I like quiet girls who are attractive in an unusual say.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Andy: I don't have much spare time these days, but when I do I love being outdoors swimming, boating, fishing, scuba diving. I write and do photography. I'd like to learn to fly. I watch TV and read comics.
Q: Would you say you're a day person or a night person?
Andy: I would rather get up at dawn and go fishing than dance in a disco till the wee hours.
Q: If you could have three wishes now, what would they be?
Andy: To be successful in my career, to remain sane and level-headed, and just to remain as I am.
Q: Has success changed your life very much?
Andy: I try not to let it, but to some degree it has. I have different pressures and responsibilities now. You constantly feel the pull forcing you into a different kind of lifestyle. You've got to be careful because it can lead you the wrong way.
Q: How would you describe yourself?
Andy: I have a good sense of humor. I'm shy with people at first and I'm easygoing.
