I remember how thrilled I was when my girlfriend called to tell me. “Andy Gibb is going to be in town,” she said excitedly. “Mom's agreed to take me down today and get tickets to his concert. Do you want to come too?” Well, at that moment I knew my best friend was truly my best friend in the whole world and would be forever. That very night I held my ticket in my hand, and next week I'd be there, seeing Andy in person.
Although I thought time would never pass, before I knew it, it was the night of the concert. The crowd around the stadium was huge. For one second I feared we wouldn't get in. But suddenly the doors opened and - Woosh! - everyone ran in at once. After pushing through what seemed like a million people, we found our seats. Not too bad, I thought, I was sitting on the side, but my view was good, and I wasn't far from the stage. My heart thumped wildly as I waited for Andy to appear. The spot light wen ton, and suddenly he was there. His blond hair gleamed, and I could almost make out the color of his eyes. He wore a shiny striped shirt that was left open to show off his sexy chest. The crowd started shouting, and so did I. I couldn't wait for Andy to start singing. As his sweet voice came over the speakers, I closed my eyes. It was almost like Andy was singing just to me. It was wonderful! I listened to the whole concert that way, dreaming that he was singing just for me. But too soon the dream ended. Andy finished his last song, his latest hit, “Love Is Thicker Than Water,” and the spot lights dimmed. I went home that night, my heart filled with love for Andy. Tomorrow I'd buy his album so I could really have him all to myself.
