Now you can add these personal revelation to your Andy Gibb collection.
1. Andrew Roy Gibb is my full name.
2. I was born on March 5, 1958, in Manchester, England.
3. I'm 5'7" and weight around 130 pounds; sometimes less.
4. My first love was a beautiful Swedish girl. I wrote my first song about her and played it for Barry. He didn't laugh.
5. Barry gave me my first guitar when I was twelve. A year later I was performing in small clubs and loving it. I didn't get paid.
6. My first single was I Just Want To Be Your Everything. It stayed on the charts a long time.
7. Love is Thicker Than Water was my second single; it became a smash.
8. Shadow Dancing is my third single and my second LP has the same title. I'm thrilled my fan/friends loved these.
9. I was married to Kim Reeder, an Australian girl, at 18, and divorced by the time I was twenty. One of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life.
10. I have a daughter Peta Jaye from my marriage to Kim.
11. I play the guitar and piano. I began writing music at thirteen.
12. My first single in Australia was Words & Music.
13. My fave groups are The Bee Gees, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Don McLean, The Beatles, and Steely Dan.
14. I confess I love junk foods. I'm crazy about Big Macs, French fries, shakes.
15. I sang Holiday on the Olivia Newton-John TV special. I enjoyed being on that show.
16. It's no secret that I date actress Susan George, but please believe me we're just good friends. No romance. That's the truth.
17. Listen, there's absolutely no truth to the rumor that Marie Osmond and I have secret dates. We are NOT secretly in love.
18. Beautiful Fleur Thiemeyer is another girl I'm supposed to have a crush on. Wrong! She, too, is a good friend. She designs my stage clothes; also Olivia's and Rod's. Fleur has quite a flair.
19. I'm in to photography in a big way. I even develop my own photos. So, watch it, there! You're on Candid Camera!
20. I guess I'd describe myself as shy until I get to know a person. I sort of shy away from people who come on too strong. Not my type.
21. Steak and eggs are two of my faves; they also give me the energy I need after a performance.
22. I guess you can say I'm world-traveled. Hawaii, Japan and France are on my traveling "menu."
23. I've been asked if it's true that I turned down the Bee Gees to become the fourth member of that great group. It's true!
24. I'm told that I have a strong resemblance to my brother Barry. That's flattering; he's handsome. We have matching birthmarks on our knees.
25. My favorite Bee Gee song is How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.
26. I used to live on a fancy houseboat, but now I rent an ocean-front house.
27. Horseback riding and motorcycles turn me on; now I've found a new thrill--soaring high above the water on a parachute while a speedboat pulls me along. That's exciting!
28. I'm proud to say I deeply love my parents, Barbara and Hugh Gibb. They are so giving, loving, and understanding.
29. I have an older sister, Leslie, and a younger sis, Berri. She's a cute teenager.
30. My fave movie is Jesus Christ Superstar; I saw it about 15 times. I'd go to see anything in which John Wayne stars; also Dick Van Dyke and Peter Finch.
31. I try not to miss The Muppet Show and Monty Python on TV.
32. I've read that I have golden blond hair; that my brown eyes are flecked with gold. I'll stand by that description.
33. When I goof off -- which isn't often -- I like to sit around listening to records.
34. Sometimes I go on a spaghetti eating binge. And anything with spicy curry.
35. I've been asked about my ambitions; they really haven't changed since I was a kid. I'd like to keep doing what I'm doing only better, of course.
36. Music's in my blood. I'm sure you know that my dad was a drummer for Benny Goodman, and my mom was a singer. As for those Bee Gees ... there's nothing they can't do, musically speaking. It's an understatement to say they are supertalented.
37. I've also been asked about my fave kind of date. Seems to me they're just about like yours. I like a quiet dinner for two. Nice atmosphere. Good conversation. I stay away from the noisy disco scene.
38. Sooner or later, everybody gets to the stuff about romance. If you believe the gossip columns (I don't) I've got a lot of lovelies clinging to my arm. I do have a few lovely, casual friends.
39. Marriage on my mind? No way! That's straight and to the point.
40. Do I have best friends? Of course. My family.
