Aquarium was my first UT map...it consists of an old unused city aquarium with sub-level access halls and a series of underwater observation tubes as paths to the flags...there is also a central underwater tower accessed by teleporters as another possible route.
This map has very basic shapes and has some framerate problems...I never thought much of it, but was once told by someone on a bulletin board that it was one of his favorites, so go figure...
Blasted was my second map, and consists of two fortresses connected by a stony valley...there are also two other paths between the forts, both underground, one a primitive mine-like tunnel, the other a more modern concrete bunker type arrangement complete with fusion power generator...this is a very good map, called Blasted because of the randomly fired nuclear missiles that "blast" the region between the forts...this map was picked up and used as a server map as soon as it was released by a group in Texas.
Derelict is a space ship spinning hoplessly out of control in orbit around Mars...due to a terrible mishap during a long-range teleporter attempt...the attempt was succesful, what came through from the other side was not expected.
This was an attempt to build a non-symetrical Capture the Flag that still played symetrically...tough.
There is a twist to this one, a horrible creature is locked away belowdecks by a blast shield. Even though your orders are never to disengage the block...the trigger is hidden away on board, and the thing CAN be released...there are a few other little surprises, too.
Ashes has been called a theme map by some, but I believe its Archetecture is pretty good, and it plays well as far as I can see. Your team is called upon to defeat a group of enviro-nazis and loot a Nali temple prematurely dedicated to the humans who drove the Skaarj off their planet...only to loot their world through the use of lawyers instead of force.
You also become the enviromentalists who try to stop the yankee traders from looting, once the teams trade.
The Lulupea is a Galaxy class warship completley coated in a thin film of neutronium making it indestructable...the building of which was commissioned by the Rebel forces on Mars, who are attempting to break away from the totalitarian rule of Earth's Emporer....It was purchased from an off-planet wing of a partially defunct corporation called Union Aerospace...Familiar name to some, eh?.
I built this level to try to cheer up a friend from Unreality.org that had recently recieved some bad news...the ship is named after her. Your job, if attacking, is to disable the auto-pilot and wreast control of the ship away, so the Emporer's fleet can leave hyperspace and "liberate" Mars...if defending, of course, you must stop the invasion.
Latest CTF...yes, just another "bridge" level...but this one does have bells and whistles that novice mappers may wish to study, and plays very well. It takes place in an old geothermal power plant that spans a gorge of lava from which it generates power. This map sports framed pictures of some of the most beautiful women in the world, as well as some cartoon gaffs. Snipers will especially like this map.
Latest and probably last work, for Unreal2 will be out soon. Your mission in this one is to steal the Holy Grail from the Knights Templar who have kept it hidden in a secret fortress for thousands of years. After you capture it, send it back to the evil Xan who wants it for his personal collection. Dark and spooky atmosphere, plenty of gaffs, and interesting art on the walls.
