Skorch was born at a very young age in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. It was here that he learned all the essentials such as fishing, hunting, staying out of the way of tractors and how to spell Pennsylvania.
He grew up without getting killed, had a relativly normal childhood with only a few brushes with the authorities, gained an AAS degree in Electronics and took a job with a well known Eastern College on two of their Geophysical research vessels. Having traveled extensively, he has, to date, visited 19 countries and a few island chains, worked in Honduras in the Hurricane Mitch relief effort helping to rebuild housing, and once managed to live in Southern California for two years, again with only a few brushes with the authorities.
During all this he married a beautiful and intelligent redhead he didn't deserve, had three great kids he didn't deserve, learned a few vile words of Fijian from friends, discovered he never met an Aussie he didn't like, learned just enough Spanish to communicate poorly or get into barfights with, found he felt most comfortable in third-world countries such as New Jersey and realized there are many universal questions that will never have answers...such as:
Why are all the women in Norway beautiful?
Why is the weather in Bermuda always perfect?
If the word research means "to search again", then what does
the word "recieve" mean?...to "cieve" again?...
what about "retaliate"?
What kind of perverted sadist WANTS to become a tax collector?
Why are the Russians so damn smart but can't make any money?
Why can't I make any money?
........Anyway, By way of introduction, here are a few more details...........
Hobbies
--Aside from a small rifle and pistol collection (that's arsenal to you liberals) I also enjoy Unreal Tournament mapping and try to stay somewhat fit by lifting weights.
Favorite Show
--Mystery Science Theatre 3000
Favorite Show Still on the Air
--Futurama
Favorite Books
--"The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" trilogy, by Douglas Adams...and the "Nine Princes in Amber" series by Roger Zelazny
(There are also many other authors I've greatly enjoyed reading, such as Ray Bradbury, Robert Silverberg, Poul Anderson, Larry Niven, Arthur C. Clark and Heinlein...before he went a little nutz...It may also be of interest that although Roger Zelazny is sadly no longer with us, collaborative works of his such as "Donnerjack" which he wrote with the most excellent writer Jane Lindskold are still available and incorperate his unique style and character creation.)
His future plans are to travel a bit more (been eyeing the Yucatan Peninsula) and perhaps break into the networking biz, hopefully all with only a few brushes with the authorities.
...Hope this has allayed your curiosity, at least to a degree...
