There is a song by the Doors that is called THIS IS THE END, THE END MY FRIEND. In a way this is the end of our term as governors. This will be the last message in Take 5 and on our web site.

We would like to take this opportunity to again thank all those who made the effort to come to Kinvention in Abbotsford. To those who did not attend please consider Kinvention in Coquitlam next year. It is a great opportunity for fellowship and education.

This year's Kinvention featured our National President Susan Meyers and great presentations on Cystic Fibrosis and our own District project the Kinsmen Foundation. The amount raised for these two projects was astounding. Please continue your efforts on their behalf.

Public Speaking competition was well attended. We congratulate the three speakers and again encourage you to consider entering public speaking as it is a wonderful learning and growing experience.

The business portion of the meetings went well and we able to adjourn the meeting on Sunday morning as events flowed smoothly. You will be receiving the minutes with this issue of Take 5.

The evenings' entertainment was very good with two of the three bands having kinsmen members. It even featured our own Dave Tout up on stage!

We would also like to congratulate all the winners in the Trophy Competitions. Remember it's hard to win if you don't submit. All in all a great time!

At this time we would like to again thank our District Council for all their efforts this past year. You were a great group to work and learn with and we will always consider you among our finest friends.

We would also like to recognize the efforts and assistance of the Kinsmen foundation and also Past Governor Dave Owen and Cathy Johns. They were always available to help us when problems came up. They say Kin is a learning experience and we have certainly learned a lot this past year and a half and still are.

Last but not least a big thank you to our executive committee. We were fortunate to surround ourselves with very able kin. Without them we could not have managed.

We pass over our office June 30th to two very capable kin, Ken and Shelley. We wish them the very best in their year.

Our last official function is attendance at National Kinvention in Cornerbrook . We will your bring your concerns and make sure District Five is heard.

Lastly we would like to say a Big Thank You to all of you for giving us your support and understanding this past year. It's been a blast.

Yours in Kin,
Linda Kingsbury
Cyrille Barnabe
