Chapter 8
~AN HOUR LATER~

"I'm just so confused Beth, I just...I don't know what I want anymore.  I know I can't throw my job away...I don't want to upset anyone.  Brian just got on my nerves from asking me how I am and all the guys have done that.  They don't respect that I don't want to tell them anything.  I don't want them to feel sorry for me.  What's happened is in the past...you just can't push it away though.  I mean you can try...I've tried, but it just keeps coming back to haunt me."  Beth nodded in agreement with Nick.  "You're seriously the only person that understands me Beth,...I'd be so lost without you."  Nick said forcing a smile.

Beth nodded again.  "Nick I think you need to talk to the guys and tell them how you feel about them... They are trying to help you, care for you.  You are pushing them away by telling them to leave you alone.  I don't want to sound mad at you, I know you can't help it...they'll understand, you just need to tell them how you feel and what they can do to help."

"I don't need any help though.  I though you knew that... God, I don't even know what to do anymore, I'm so confused."  Nick put his head in his hands.

"I know you're confused...I am too."  That was all Nick needed to hear.  Beth sat next to him and rubbed his back.   He was falling apart and she couldn't help but feel guilty.  He needed her just like she needed him.

~AN HOUR LATER~

Nick had fallen asleep on the couch and Beth had watched him.  He looked so peaceful just sleeping there but there still were the hardened tears around his face that made him look desperate.  Beth wished she knew what to do with him.  He was a mess.  She was a mess but she couldn't change that.  After a while she drifted off to sleep.

~THE NEXT MORNING~

Nick woke up later than he usually did.  He needed his sleep.  They had the morning off anyway so it didn't matter.  Nick finally woke up to find himself in Beth's hotel room.  Beth had woken up and turned her headphones on.  Nick smiled and looked at her.  She seemed to be enjoying the music.  He hated to disturb her, but he couldn't resist.  He slowly crept over to her bed and smiled.  She hadn't noticed him yet.  Then he reached towards her and  started tickling her.  She was shocked at first but then realized it was only Nick and laughed.  She took off her headphones.

"Morning, sleeping beauty."  She teased.

"Yea...nice to see you too."

"So do you want to get breakfast?"

"Sure."  He nodded.

They headed down for breakfast and had some coffee and muffins.  Then they returned to their hotel rooms and prepared for the rest of the day.
