July's High Council meeting was held at Summer Games on Sunday, July 22^nd.

Sterling brought forward his P.O. (Purchase Order) proposal. If either you or someone within I.K.E. wanted to buy a medal for a member in the Sqd. you would make the request to the Treasurer for the cost of the item. He would then issue a P.O. to Sterling saying that it is okay to make that item and that I.K.E. will pay for it.

Passed with: 6 Yea's 1 No

Roger discussed the Order of the Fencer and how it came about. He also discussed enforcing the mandatory testing for Sq./ ship Commanders & XO's. Each Commander is now required to take the Ship Commanders test.

We voted on the Blood Shield as to which Sq. it should be awarded to. This is the award that is given to the Squadron that is most active in various events and volunteer activities.

The vote went as such:

1 vote for Omala Sq. 1 vote for Houston Sq.

4 votes for Longview Sq. 1 Abstention

Victor brought up Bob Phillips' proposal for the Editor of the Jev and the Emperor not have to pay for yearly memberships. This received brief discussion and was passed. Passed with: 6 Yea's 1 No

Victor brought up the problem with Honorary Memberships and the excess cost to the I.K.E. It has been decided that each Sq. will have the option of offering 1 Honorary Membership per year. If a H.M. is given then the Sq. that has offered it MUST pay for that individual's membership. The Sq. will only be required to pay for the $9.00 jev membership. This membership will last only a year, if the Sq. chooses to offer another H.M. to someone else the original H.M. is dropped.

We also discussed the current cost of memberships. We made sure that everyone was aware that membership cost were as such:

Single Membership $15.00 (International $20)

Family Membership $25.00 (International $30)

E-JEV Membership $6.00 (ONLY receiving a JEV through e-mail, $16 for Family)

JEV Membership $9.00 (H.C./ those who don't want to be full fledged members)

We voted on the Medal Of Honor Award for Kay Templeton.

Black Sqd. has offered to sponsor Anniversary this year at the same as the New Years Eve party at Medieval Times. This will be a Good Day to Dine weekend so we need members to dress up in full Klingon Gear. Basically we will celebrate Anniversary, New Years Eve, and go to Medieval Times in full Klingon gear to party.

We discussed the problem with setting a date for Summer Games and then having to change it because of someone's problem with the current date. We decide to set a date and keep it.

Next years Summer Games will be held in New Braunfels again at White Water Sports. Hurricane and Omala Sqd. will co-sponsor S.G. next year. We set the date for June 22-24, 2001. This date is set in stone, as it will NOT be changed for anyone anymore. This has been voted on and passed.

Kon Zha was a convention to be held by the I.K.E. in the near future. When the group of people heading it moved to separate states, it became unwieldy, and it was decided to restore the funds to the club and wait for another try. Here is a breakdown of the KonZha Funds:
