Meeting called to order by Mike Haze at 10:30am.

1. Anniversary Bash- The choices were between Stellar Occasions and Madisonville. Since Anniversary Bash can get lost in the activity of a convention, it was decided (5yes -1 no) to have it at Madisonville(90 miles north of Houston on I-45) with events being held at Kevin and Jolynn Garcia's house, on Nov. 13 th / 15th, 1998. Sat. night awards will be held at the Corral Restaurant and we will be staying at the Econo Lodge ($45 per night) hosted by Hurricane Squadron. Details and agenda will be in the Oct. jev.

2. Summer Games- There were several possibilities brought up:

Turner Falls, OK- hosted by Black Squadron. See Victor.

Kat and Anthony's new house in Red Rock- See Mike.

White Water Sports-same place as 3 years ago- Terri.

Choke Canyon-Braunfels area- See Jackie.

Rosenburg- Houston area- See Pat.

Bids are to be presented at the Oct. High Council Meeting. (Oct. 17, 1998 in Houston, at Kay's house to coincide with Ren Fair)

3. Award Nominations-Several people were nominated and nominations are still open. Contact your Sq. CO. 4. Manual Upgrading- Mike and Roger are working on upgrading the manuals. Commander's Handbook will be first and will be available on computer in Acrobat Reader. Printed copies are $5.00 from the Academy.

5. Roger Buck was ratified (6 aye- 0 nay ) as the Commandant of the Academy.

6. Bylaws: Drawing up the bylaws is a big undertaking so we decided to do it in stages. The first laws we decided to include are:

• 1. Two year terms for Council members with staggered elections every January High Council Meeting. positions to be elected Jan.99 are Imperial Naval Commander and Director of Communications. Jan. 2000 elections are for. Emperor, Chancellor and Academy Commandant.

• 2. Squadron Commanders are to be chosen by the squadrons with a two-year ratification.
• 3. Squadron Commanders are representatives at Council, NOT members.
• 4. Council members that miss 3 meetings without sending a proxy will be replaced.
• 5. Membership- Squadrons pay $20.00 per year for membership, which includes 1 copy of the jev and Imperial awards. Council membership is $15.00 per year.
