Karl Ruprect Kroenen

I just LOVE Kroenen. He's one of the best villains of all time. I had to draw him and start putting him into stories even before the Hellboy movie had come out. I knew nothing about him and these drawings are based on what little I could gather from the three pictures I had found at the time.

This is my first drawing of Kroenen. Well not quite. My first drawing was a disaster that no one shall ever see. This is my first good drawing of him. If I ever get around to coloring it I'll add it soon.

Now THIS is a drawing to be proud of!! I think this drawing has my best shadowing and coloring to date. It is the first time I tried using shadow colors other than grey tones. You can tell by the blue shadow on Kroenen's coat. This is also the first time I have drawn Destina in my art style as opposed to the way I used to draw her for The Mysterious Cities of Gold. My best shading is on Sammael and I had a blast doing the detail on him. It was fun to draw a monster again after so many years.

Same as above only smaller and with a Hell background. This is one of the portals that Kroenen uses to time travel or teleport in my stories. I loved adding the detail to Sammael, hard as it is to believe he was the easiest for me to draw. Destina was the hardest but I'm happy to have pulled her from Cities of Gold since that project never finished. In that way she's kinda like Owen having started in one story and worked better in another.
