Robotech DVD's (Region 1)
The seventh "flight" of Robotech DVD's
is due out on March 19, 2002! ADV Films will be issuing three releases
at that time:
- "Genesis"
will be a single-disc release, featuring a DVD containing The New Generation
episodes 74-79. However, this DVD will be void of extras except for a standard
menu and chapter stops.
- "Hollow Victory,"
another single-disc release, will feature The New Generation episodes 80-85. The
DVD contained in this release is also void extras.
- "The New Generation
6: The Robotech Legacy" will be a box set containing the DVD's included
in "Genesis" and "Hollow Victory" (The New Generation episodes 74-85). Also
included will be a third bonus disc featuring the extras for the box set.
The extras will include: "a collection of scenes cut from Macross, Southern Cross
and Mospeada; an extensive Robotech merchandise gallery filled with images many
rare Robotech collectibles; video clips from Robotech video games past and
present; selected scenes from Robotech in various languages as well a many other
Robotech treasures."

TDK Mediactive
has announced its acquisition of a sublicense from Mattel, allowing them
to develop and publish Robotech games for next-generation videogame platforms
and the PC. Retaining the services of Vicious Cycle Software, which originally
worked on designs and developments for a Robotech game under Mattel Interactive,
TDK Mediactive plans on developing games that will push each individual
platform's abilities to its fullest, with the first Robotech release scheduled
for 2002.
