What is Knight Rider 2000?

Knight Rider 2000 is a movie that aired on May 19, 1991 that reunited the original cast of Knight Rider in the year 2000. Michael is retired from the foundation, Devon is partners with Russell Maddock and they are both seeking a contract for the Knight Industries 4000 from the city of Detroit. Shawn McCormick is introduced as a cop shot in the brain with a chip and KITT is brought back and put into the body of KIFT to fight crime in the 21st century.

What happened to Michael Knight between 1987 and 2000?

Michael left the foundation in 1990 feeling that he lost his purpose. He retired and ran a bass charter which went belly up. He distanced himself from the life he lead and began a third life, one that would not get him killed or take advantage of him. Michael agrees to return to the Foundation for 30 days to assist Devon on the condition he be able to rebuild KITT.

What happened to Devon Miles between 1987 and 2000?

Devon continued the Knight Foundation that Wilton Knight had established and kept his dream alive. He is now CEO but the cost of doing business has forced the Knight Foundation to be more freelance then ever. City politics and not getting approval for projects leaves Devon needing a partner in order to keep one man's dream alive. Devon is killed by Watts in order to stop the foundation from discovering what he was doing to undermine the city.

Who is Shawn McCormick?

Shawn was a good cop who had good sense but not a lot of experience. Eager to learn as a rookie cop, she got too close to finding out the truth about Thomas Watts and his operation, forcing Watts to shoot her in the head. After placing a chip in her head(which happens to be KITT's) Shawn faces the police commissioner those who wanted her dead and off life support. She quit the police force and applied for a job at the Knight Foundation where Devon and Maddock quickly hired her after Michael found out she had KITT's chip in her head.

What happened to KITT after Michael left in 1990?

KITT became less and less of an incredible vehicle as the years went on and when Maddock took control of the foundation as Vice President, he saw that KITT was no longer an asset and not even worth storing, so he sold his parts off and put the money back into Knight Industries. Micheal reactivated KITT and KITT was put into Michael's 57 Chevy in order to help Michael track down leads. Seeing that the Knight Industries 4000 was completed, Michael after Devon's death decided to place KITT's cpu in KIFT and replace the existing one.

Who is Russell Maddock?

Russell Maddock was a former District Attorney who had a high conviction rate and was hired to bring a new perspective to the Foundation emotionally and financially. He helped create the Knight Industries 4000 and used his voice as the guide for the new cpu. Assisted Devon in making sure the new contract with the city was secure and continues to run the operation after the death of Devon Miles.

Who is Kurt Miller?

Kurt Miller is another cop and Shawn's former partner when she was a police officer. Kurt was Shawn's friend and was caught up in Watt's gun running scam with the other officers for his belief that the banishment of handguns was wrong. Very opinionated and died for his beliefs when shot by Watts at the mall.

Who is Thomas Watts?

A former homicide detective who was convicted of shooting and killing a suspect with a banned handgun. He was frozen in 1998 and paroled by the mayor. He began to make a profit from the ban and sold on the black market. He kills Devon Miles and attempts to kill Shaun until Michael shoots him and kills him.

What are KIFT's features?

A thermal expander which can explode any object, a voice sampler that can simulate any voice, a hydrofoil that allows KIFT to float on water, not hydroplane on it. A remote target assist that allows it to help aim and fire an object with percision. An infared scanner with better capabilities then the original KITT had(think Red Bluff, Goliath) which detects laser rifles and objects that give off heat. KIFT can also smell, where KITT could only analyze. The Virual Reality Mode enables for more control and a visual area larger then the normal viewing size.
