KNIGHT RIDER 2000
DEVON MILES DEATH SCENE
A SPECIAL LOOK AT THE TRUE KNIGHT RIDER

The death of Devon Miles(Edward Mullhare) is the most tragic event in the Knight Rider timeline to date. Killing of one of your main characters is not an easy thing to do especially when most looked up to him as the guiding force behind the Knight Rider universe, the one man who earned Michael's respect and believed that one man really can make a difference. In the movie he reminds Michael that he never lost sight of Wilton's dream. Devon instills a caliming effect on everyone and insisting that KITT's human traits be part of the new car and that just because KITT is an old relic does not mean he is not useful. Maddock forgets the humanity and Devon is quick to point that fact out to him, that losing faith in humanity is losing faith in one's self. Even after his death in the movie, Michael says, "that man was like a father to me" and you can see Hasselhoff go deep in his emotions to express what we all feel. Most of us will admit to crying as Watt's sticks that needle and kills Devon. Devon never lost sight of his dream and neither should we. One man really can make a difference.
