Tycho Celchu is an Alderaanian who was originally an Imperial Tie Pilot. According to the X-Wing novel, he joined the Rebellion after Alderaan was destroyed by the first Death Star. He served on Hoth and Gall, and flew as Wedge's wingman in an A-wing at the Death Star II battle. He made the trench run in DSII and was one of the pilots ordered to lead the Ties away from Lando & Wedge.
He joins Rogue Squadron, switches to flying X-wings and, in the X-Wing comics, he has the call sign Rogue Nine. During the X-wing Novels "Rogue Squadron" & "Wedge's Gamble", he serves as the squadron's Executive Officer. He is Rogue Seven in "Bacta War". He serves as Rogue One during the novels "Wraith Squadron" and "Iron Fist" and then becomes Rogue Two during "Solo Command" and "Isaard's Revenge". When Rogue Squadron is captured in "Isard's Revenge", he flies as a Tie pilot using the call sign Red Five. When Wedge leaves the squadron, Tycho becomes Rogue Leader.
Tycho, Wes Janson and Hobbie Klivian also accompany Wedge Antilles to Adumar as New Republic representatives in "Starfighters of Adumar".
Throughout the comics, Tycho wears the typical orange X-wing flight suit. On page 26 of "X-wing Rogue Squadron", Tycho is described as wearing a black flight suit. On page 219 of "Isaard's Revenge", the Rogues are wearing black flight suits. This comment is made about Tycho "Only Tycho looked natural in it - mainly because he'd always worn black".
