Echoes - A bored Candy snoops around in the medicine cabinets
of the Hot'l residents. She makes it into Theresa and Elise's rooms before
she is side tracked.
Legacy.. sort of:-) -Dan posts: I did make it to Legacy
on Saturday, after a little mis-direction. I went to the DC Convention Center.
Had no idea it wasn't there! Got there and realized that nothing was going
on and got a little worried. Called Mom. She finally got me the correct place.
So I hopped BACK on the Metro to the correct venue.
Once I got there, I spent a good 20 or 30 minutes walking around, trying
to read people's name-tags without looking like I was gawking at their boobs!
LOL Finally I made my way to the registration desk. I didn't want to pay
for the con, since I wouldn't get to come back the next day, and They were
pretty much done for the day. So I bought a ticket to the Jim Byrnes concert,
and made my way to the vendor area. Finally I caught up with the ADLFC. And
they invited me up to their gathering later, before the concert. That still
left me with several hours to kill.
I checked out the auction for a little bit. Saw Stan Kirsch and Peter Wingfield.
They were funny. Seemed pretty cool. Peter was signing a book, and they asked
him to kiss it in lipstick, so his kiss would be printed in the book. He
was getting ready to put the lipstick on, and stopped. "Wait a minute. I
can't use this stuff." Then he points to the bottom, "It says 'Mac!!"
After that, I went up to the bar, to try to kill the last of the time until
the ADLFC party. I'm sitting at the bar, drinking a beer, watching the Knicks
game, and who should sit next to me, but Jim Byrnes. His guitarist and a
roadie were already sitting at the bar. (I had no idea who they were until
later at the concert.) I ended up talking a little hockey with Jim, before
he rolled out to get ready for the concert. Nice guy. (Couldn't help but
thinking, Hey, I'm downing brews with Joe. Kept looking for Duncan to walk
in. LOL)
The party was cool. It's always awkward to be at a party where you don't
know anyone. But the ladies were very nice, and made me feel very welcome.
Then we all went to the concert. There I finally got to meet a couple members
of our board here!! Met Niki, Randi, and Steffy (The Vampire Slayer.) and
Mary (Highlandmg).
I had to leave before the concert was over. It was fun. It was great to meet
people and finally put some faces with names. Everyone was very nice and
incredibly welcoming. You HL ladies have a very strong, friendly world going.
Everyone seemed to have a great time, and get along really well. Lots of
laughing and people having fun.
I would have liked to have been able to take the sword class! That sounded
like it was fun. (Bob Chapin was there, running that class.)
And from what I heard, they saw the Highlander: Endgame trailer there. (No,
I didn't see it.)
I met Dan the Man - Nikki posts: Hi all, I'm back from Legacy
and exhausted but happy. There's a short post on the other board by me and
I'm sure others will fill in tomorrow as they return.
Dan came to the concert Saturday nite at the con hotel and I met him! Apparently
he was asking for me and people knew who I was but didn't know where I was!
Well, his persistence paid off and I was thrilled to finally meet our budding
superstar in person. I also got to introduce him to 3 or 4 other ladies who
play here and I really hope his trek into the city and all that time he spent
hanging out and waiting was worth the trip.
Well Dan, you do your Mom proud. The only bad thing is that now I don't know
if you look better on TV or in person ;-) Dilemmas, dilemmas
<sigh>.
Hi All! - Candy talks about her decision to homeschool her
children. This leads to a discussion of school violence in general.
