The
fifth Federation starship to bear the name Enterprise it was launched on stardate
40752.5 (2363) from the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yard. This starship was a Galaxy
class starship composed of 42 decks and an overall length of 641 meters. It was
under the command of Captain Jean-luc Picard for most of it's service. In
2369 the Enterprise-D was briefly put under the commandment of Captain Edward
Jellico. It was later destroyed in 2372 by a Klingon Bird of Prey under the command
of the Duras sister's.
