Farman F.121 Jabiru
Also called the F.3X, this four-engined French transport won the 1923 French Grand Prix des Avions Transports and 500,000 Francs. Four of these slab-sided nine passenger beasts cruised the skies of Europe for the Farman airline in the late 1920's, with four 180 hp Hispano-Suiza 8Ac inkine engines.
Four more three-engined F.4X's were built, with two uncowled 300 hp Salmson Az.9 engines mounted above the main gear and a third in the upper nose. Military versions were heavy bombers, torpedo bombers and escort fighters {!}.
