TEXAS LOOKS VERY
SIMILAR TO CHARLOTTE. BOTH ARE 1.5 MILE
QUAD-OVALS. BUT THAT'S ABOUT WHERE THE SIMILARITY ENDS. BOTH
TRACKS ARE FAST AND TROUBLE CAN GET YOU IF YOU LET YOUR GUARD
DOWN FOR EVEN A SPLIT SECOND.
START OUT NEXT TO THE WALL AT THE S/F LINE AND STAY OUT THERE UNTIL
YOU ARE ALMOST IN THE CORNER. LIFT OFF THE GAS AND TURN THE CAR
DOWN INTO THE CORNER. I TRY TO STAY ABOUT 3/4 OF A GROOVE HIGHER
THAN THE LINE UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF THE CORNER AND THEN CUT DOWN TO
THE LINE AND LET THE CAR DRIFT OUT TO THE WALL ON THE
BACKSTRETCH. YOU PROBABLY WANT TO KEEP YOUR SPEED UP
SOMEWHERE AROUND 170-174 AT YOUR SLOWEST POINT OF TURNS 1 AND 2.
STAY OUT NEAR THE WALL ON THE BACKSTRETCH AND THEN CUT DOWN TO
THE WHITE LINE IN 3 AND 4. BE CAREFUL TO NOT LET THE CAR GET A TIRE
UNDER THE LINE OR YOU WILL SNAP THE CAR LOOSE AND LOOSE A LOT OF
TIME AND SPEED. I TRY TO KEEP MY SPEED ABOUT 172-175 THROUGH
THESE TURNS.
I ALSO TRY TO KEEP MY CAR A LITTLE ON THE LOOSE SIDE SO THAT I CAN
USE THE GAS TO HELP TURN THE CAR A LITTLE IN THE TURNS, BUT IF YOU
GET TOO LOW IN THE CORNERS YOU WILL BE IN TROUBLE SO STAY ON YOUR
TOES.

WILL ABSOLUTELY DOMINATE. WITH LOW FUEL AND NEW TIRES, I'VE ALMOST REACHED
188! UNDER NORMAL USE, SHOULD RUN CONSISTENT 186s.

PRETTY GOOD QUALIFYING
SETUP THAT WILL DO 185s FAIRLY EASILY. A LITTLE TWEAK MIGHT PRODUCE SOME
MORE SPEED.
