After years the creators of 2000AD strips not getting anything beyond the basic payrate, some creator owned series appearing since 1992.

2000AD and its spin-off titles such Crisis and Judge Dredd Megazine have changed publisher a number of times in the last 2 decades.

• 1977, IPC Magazines, which had scottish publisher DC Thomson as its rival for comics.
• July 1987, Youth/Comics section of IPC seperated into a different buildling and then sold off to Maxwell Consumer Publishing & Communications for £2.8million. Now using the banner Fleetway.
• October 1991 Maxwell entered into a 50/50 joint venture with Danish Gutenburghus Press which owned London Editions that had the licence for printing Disney comics to the UK. So when "Youth Group" publisher Jon Davidge purshased the disney licence Guthenburghus brought in 50% of the "Youth Gouth" just to get licence back, hence fleetway became fleetway editions.
• November 5th 1991 Robert Maxwell commited suicide and his media empire was discovered to be discovered in trouble. 2000AD's graphic novel distubitors MacDonald & Co. like many Maxwell companies went into recievership, so all the revenue from Judgement on Gotham
• January 1992 Guthenburg Press (Egmont) brought the 50% from Maxwell, payment unkonwn.
• 1990, Egmont ups and downs.. spin-off galore appears only disappear suddenly in 1996. 2000AD itself made a profit whole time.
• August 2000, the Oxford game company, Rebellion, took over control of 2000AD and Judge Dredd Megazine, also gaining the licenses to create games/movies based on 2000AD characters. The official 2000AD website, relaunch of Judge Dredd megazine and new Judge Dredd computer game have been the first impacts.

There was an IPC strike between 10/5/80 and 14/6/80 delayed which Prog 165.

Egmont-Fleetway a two week gap after each 48Page special (progs. 1084 and 1111)

There is a 4week gap, between one regular issue another each special. Plugged brillantly by the 96Page Prog 2000 and it follow-ups.
