Biography for Simon Lewis

Date of birth: 29th February, 1956

Place of birth: London, England

Although bitten by the acting bug while still at school after being chosen to work as an extra on Hitchcock's FRENZY and Richard Lester's JUGGERNAUT, his main interest during much of the 70s and 80s was in music - during this period he sang in bands and toured with Britain's one and only jazz choir, the only jazz-based outfit ever to be allowed to perform in St Paul's Cathedral in London. Eventually he worked as a session singer, working with several rock greats in the process.

A chance casting in THE MEDUSA TOUCH, and subsequent appearances in science fiction films 1984 and Tobe Hooper's cult oddity LIFEFORCE gave him the acting bug again, a direction confirmed by a meeting with the late, legendary Richard Burton.

Some theatre work, a LOT of learning, and even more living followed, until he finally broke into the business as a professional actor in August 1994 - when his trademark shaven head, unusual looks and build made him a natural candidate for weird, heavy and character roles.

He continues to push the boundaries of his experience, figuring that hopefully it will make him a better actor. The part of Quace in FIRST FRONTIER is his first leading role in a television series.
