"Outta My Head, Too!"

Greeting and salutations, my fellow UGers, and welcome to another "Outta
My Head, Too!" column. I hope to write one of these at least twice a month
since the UnderGround is growing by leaps and bounds. With the
ever-increasing subscription list, I know we'll reach 200 by the end of the
year.
Many of you know that we've re-arranged the editorial staff once again.
We've even added a new Group Editor. I see the opportunity to add another
one in the near future as our list of titles increase. I think that at
this time we have twenty-four titles now. Most are currently being put
out, but there are a few that are coming out in the near future. There are
some great titles coming out, too. Avengers 2099 UG, written by Ron Wood,
is one of my favorite new titles that should be out sometime in November.
Another title I think is going to be a hit is Salem 2099 UG written by our
AEIC, Jason Smith.
We've seen some surprise hit titles that I am very proud to see. One of
these is the Theatre of Pain limited series. To be honest I never even
knew this one was in the works, but when I received the draft of the first
issue, I was hooked on it. Archangel, written by the "other Chris", is a
great new series I feel has a lot of potential. I've seen what is in the
upcoming months of this title, and I believe this title will be a
cornerstone in many of the storylines coming up next year. Be looking for
"the other" Chris to be taking on a few more titles in the coming months as
he brings us the new adventures of Spider-Man, and he's even working on
What If..? in the 2099 UG. Chris is fast becoming the busiest member of our
staff.
Speaking of next year let me give you a little preview of what's coming up
this December and New Year's Eve. There has been talk and controversy over
the idea of changing the year 2099 to 2100, and I know to change Spider-Man
2099 UG to Spider-Man 2100 UG would seriously upset most folks. So, what
are we going to do? The year 2099 has been going on for the last 5 years,
and even in comic book reality the year must change. So, here is what's
going to happen. The tag name 2099 UG will always stay 2099 UG, but the
year will change from 2099 to 2100 this New Year's Eve.
So, what is this going to do to each title? Well, there will be a mini
series coming up the first week of December called "The Coming of
Galactus." And "yes" this does mean Galactus is coming to earth one last
time. Yes, I did say "one last time." That's pretty much all I will say on
that one, but be reading all the UG titles because there are going to be
signs of Galactus's arrival in November, so be looking.
I'm really excited about the ending of this year and the coming of the new
year. The UnderGround is very much alive, so be looking for some BIG
events in the near future.
