  In today's day and age, computers are hotter than ever, especially the Internet, where meeting new people, sharing ideas, and enjoying music have become some of the most popular features on the Web. Gloria Estefan is a legendary musical pioneer, one who has gone through ups and downs in her life. Everything from triumph to tragedy, you name it, she's been there... to the mountain and back. Not only that, but Gloria is one of music's most respect artists, as well as being, respectively, one of the most talented and popular female vocalists in all the world. However, most importantly, she's an international superstar and communicator, breaking the barriers, especially the Latino ones, all around the world, by her unique, hybrid sounds of American Pop and Afro-Cuban rhythms infused together. Gloria has gained many diehard, loyal fans throughout the years, which is where Gloria Estefan's official online mailing list, Conga Online, was created. Here, fans from all over the world share a common love (which is, obviously, Gloria) and post various messages about the Queen of Latin Pop... everything from the music, to her latest projects, to her personal life. If you are an hardcore EsteFAN, you are surely a member of the Conga Mailing List... and you would must to know why it's called [conga]! The Conga Mailing List was created on May 24, 1994 by Roy Sette. By May 31, there were 14 members, while by December 14, 1998, there are about 400 members. Currently, as of April 30, 2002, there are close to 600 members from all continents, including North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. During the month of May, 1997, the server was changed to Majadomo, being placed in Chile by Andres Plaza, who serves as the List Administrator.

Subscribers are likely to see anywhere from 10 to 20 e-mails daily. You will recognize them because the subject slug will be headed by the word [conga].
