On Saturday, Novemeber 3, 2001, legendary international Latin pop powerhouse Gloria Estefan gave a very special, rare concert titled "One Night Only," in which the venerable singer-songwriter delivered all of her hits of the past two decades, LIVE from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The performance was in lieu of her cancelled 2000 U.S. tour, which was reconsidered when her daughter started kindergarten and the busy promotional campaign for Alma Caribeña. However, the wait was well-in-doubt worth it, as Gloria looked, danced, and sounded better than ever. The concert was also extra special due to the fact that it was the first time in over 5 years that Estefan performed on the West Coast. After the concert, I had the privilege of meeting both Gloria and Emilio Estefan; two amazing, sweet, and down-to-earth people. It truly was an evening that I will remember for the rest of my life.
