Mpls, Mn. (Nov. 6, 1998) Local musician Steven Morgan, was riding his bike on a trail in Burnsville. In a split second, he was hit from behind, thrown to the ground, and was uncounscious. He was sent to the emergency room with a broken jaw, broken face bone, loss of teeth, and many painful scrapes and bruises. He now faces medical bills nearing $10,000. He is in trouble. He is not alone. What is the common thread? Steve was not covered by insurance. It is time for a change.
On Nov. 24th, the Twin Cities music community will announce the TURNING POINT INSURANCE COOPERATIVE, an initiative to help musicians, as well as the ever growing independent contractor population, to be in a better postition to handle an emergency room visit, lengthy hospital stay, or stolen gear. The venue will be
BUNKERS MUSIC BAR AND GRILL. The concept will be a multiple artist performance. Cover charge will be $5, to pay for Stevens medical bills.
The goal of the TURNING POINT INSURANCE COOPERATIVE is to present a collection of major medical and instrument insurance policies, with the total of gaining both for well under $100 a month. It HAS been achieved. THIS IS NOT A FUND. This will be handled on an individual basis. The TURNING POINT INSURANCE COOOPERATIVE does not receive a fee. It is simply an initiative and referral service for musicians, and other self-employed who are uninsured.
Artists performing are: G.B. LEIGHTON, BRUCE MCCABE, KEVIN BOWE, 8 HEAD,
MICK STERLING, and many more top local artists will be making cameo performances.
We are not invincible. This is long overdue. Help us be part of the solution.

Single Male 30 years old: 50% up to $2,500, 100% after that up to $5,000,000
TOTAL PER MONTH: $54.82
GEAR: Up to $100,000: $145.00 a year
TOTAL FOR BOTH PER MONTH: $66.90.
