Gardin: Minor setbacks

The music sometime reaches truely amazing dimensions when the guitars gets angry
and creates an inferno of guitar sound, it's a shocking contrast to the very slow walking
music that most of the album consists of.
On the slow bits it reminds me very much of a norwegian rising star called "St.Thomas".
They have a captivating sound, just listen to track 3 "Forlorn", it builds itself up to a true climax
of "insanity".

The Gas Tank Orchestra:
Olestra vs. Viagra vol.1 and vol.2-cd

A highly orginal orchestra using a variety of musical instruments.
This is pure enjoyable improvisation from a group that probably could
manage to make good sound of almost all items they find, it's probably
just the imagination that sets the boundary.
A very recommendable piece of improvisation.

Richard Gladstone: Ugly
Neverecords

Lovely atmospheric pop tunes. Richard Gladstone has a unpolished and rough voice.
His voice set you in a very laidback mood eventhough the music sometimes is spiced
up with some occasional power rock chords. The words is being stretched out, chewed on
and shared.
The album has to be listened to as a whole. Some might think that each song is very similar
but it really doesn't matter when it's done is such a conceptual way.
Each track has a story and something to tell as part of a whole album.

Glass Eden: An organic industrial experience

This is a highly original approach to the industrial genre, is not pure machines and angry
voices, but also some soft and heart "warming" bits that give you a rest for a couple of
seconds. Just listen to the beginning of the second song before it gets hard and intense,
than a soft break. The intro to song three is a very funky one, the rest of the song also
keep this funky guitar sounds alive.
Song five is a Jim Steinman listen alike song.
Some have compared this cd to Nine Inch Nails, but it's actually miles away.
For my taste the guitar sound sometimes get to funky to really enjoy.
This is the beauty and the beast mixed together in a twisted harmony.
A couple of songs gave a good "stomach" feeling, but the rest gave a taste of not being
what it could have been. The cd gave me a hollow feeling, a feeling of not being satisfied.

Arc Music

A truely captivating voice performs a album partly with traditional and partly modern music.
She is one of Madagaskar's most loved artists, and it's not hard to understand why. Her voice has
integrity, authority and  and the same time a clear emotional flavour.
The music is not innovative and new, but fresh. I must say that the traditional part of the album is
the most succesful, the more modern bits is just bitter sweet songs with wrong background setting.
The taste of africa and Madagaskar has to shine through, otherwise it's just love songs that could have
been made by a lot of people, and then the language being the only difference.
A part from this it's a very nice album.

Horchata: Integral

This is truely wonderful material. Strange voice collages, tape loops, twisted beats and some
very delightful noise pieces.
Play it loud and get prepared for a solid introspection.
This gets you higher and higher, never reaching a anti-climax. Dark ambient like it should be played.
You feel you are on the run....
.....Do yourself a favour and check out this cd!
