M.C.Maguire: Back-engineering a cloned Hoola-Hoop-CDR
Haro St.Records

This is really something quite unique, samplers and  tape loops with special
sounds delivered through 7 long tracks. Some of the tracks are building themselves up
to a real climax with an almost insane intensity. It's hard to put a label tag to this music but
I guess you could call it speed-ambience combined with some trance psychedelia.
If you want to have the best listening experience when playing this cd  the key word is :
"patience". I really wanted to skip some of the minutes on some tracks, all the way to the finishing
climax...

Mara's Torment:The barrier of skin-cd

Ambience of nicely done sound collages. Very mellow and down to earth music. This
is music that gives you a very relaxing feel. No sudden and unexpected breaks, just
floating like small waves on the ocean on a warm and sunny day. It's music being perfect
in combination with reading or doing something else, to be quite honest (and that's usually
the best..) it's not music for just listening to....

Massiv in Mensch: belastendes Material-cd
Wire Productions

Hard EBM with German vocals. Quite catchy rhytms with  both sampled voices and sounds,
hard vocals and power chord synth and occasionally Sarah Folkens voice. It's a rare mix
because Folkens voice seem to fit more in a more techno/house environment.
The 12 tracks is too much considering the fact that they are no "masters" in variation, the main
components are hard hitting EBM combined with tempo (more fiting in a house/techno environment).
Don't get me wrong, I like the album but it's far from the best one I have heard in this "genre".
EBM in the direction of either new wave/minalism or with industrial ingredients, this is more techno/house.
A bit of the German "Love Parade" combined with some simple catchy beats, too nice and structured.
Track 10 "Zolk" is more my kind of good EBM.

Mastertune: The Story of Conquest-MCD (Maxi-single)
Wire Productions

The single contains 4 tracks. Two versions of the title track "The Story of Conquest, and
two other tracks. The opening track is too popish, a carneval tune with some EBM rythms,
without trumpet sounds is would have been much better. Track two "Mediaworld" is a lovely
tune, a bit Depeche Mode feel. The second version of the title track (track 3) is not much better
than the opening track version.
The final track is building itself up to a real enjoyable level, a bit of KMFDM, but then all of a sudden
in a interlude it goes back to the same "mistake" as in the title track, and then it gets boring.
My favourite track is the second track "Mediaworld", the other tracks are too unbalanced and repetitative
in a "bad" sense of the world.

John McNair:Tears for lucifer-cd

Yes this is close to the spirit of Lucifer...
Dark charming vocals and a very minimalistic sound environment:
some basic beats and a lonely guitar doing all the work. The
australian McNair has made a album that gives your thoughts
nurishment and that's what good music is all about, making a difference.

Membrane Conspiracy:The myth of the upstanding citizen-cd
                                      {a work in progress by Sean Hopp}

If this is work in progress oh my "god" what will be the end result?
This is insanely good stuff. Sean Hopp creates his own unique universe
with no obvious resemblance to any other musical projects from other artists.
It's Mister Schizophrenia per excellence creating a diversity of musical expressions,
from noise, quiet parts and mystical interludes. Tape loops with twisted sounds, scratching
noises and  manic driven vocals.
Blood is being drained from my body by a musical vampire, everything else is unclear, my veins
is being exposed to sharp teeth, I am helpless against the forthcoming attack...
I am being radiated by musical cleverness.
Please give me more, I am your slave!

Moonlife: Satellite-mcd
Moonlife:Over you-mcd
Planet XoX

Glittery glam retro wave, minimalistic and quite addictive. They sound very spacy and adventerous.
The sound is very stripped down and 80's listen alike. Gary Numan is one obvious musical reference
but in contradicition to him they sound much more popish and not so mysterious. It's naivistic synth-pop like
Data crossed with some moody Gangway and a bit of The Korgis with on top a sauce of Human League.

Noriko's: Love potions-cd

Smooth jazz. Imagine yourself drinking a coctail that tastes to sweet.
Yes it's "bitter" sweet melodies performed by a young and tasteful women.
To steal one of her phrases from the first song "it all fall like in domino...",
very predictable if you have put the pieces in correct order and done some
"serious" measurments.
This cd gives no surprises, just love potions....

Novemdecillion:S/T-cd

Dark haunting electronic landscapes and a intense vocal. The twisted
schizofrenic beats sometimes creates very catchy danceable EBM music,
just listen to track 2 "Acetylene dream", it gives you an urge to move onto
the dancefloor. Play loud and enjoy 7 very solid tracks that gives you several
minutes of satisfaction. Track 4 "Bipolar" is turning the cold winds from the
north against you, very edgy metallic beats gives you a creepy feeling. What is
hiding behind the next corner...
