History or Biography

Clint Thomas- vocalist and guitar
Clint is originally from Labelle Florida, he has been playing music for about 10 years. A talented vocalist, song writer and front man, he is one of the original band members of Steel Country. Clint's latest original, "no way to lose", sets the tone for SC's southern fried, outlaw country sound.
Ron Browning- lead guitar and vocalist
Ron is from Louisville, Ky. He has been playing music since the early age of 9 years old. The son of a professional steel guitarist, Ron played drums for his Dad several years before moving to Florida and pursuing a music career in guitar. He co-writes and arranges most of the music on SC's original material. Ron's influences on guitar include Brent Mason, Roy Nichols and the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Greg Olson- drums and percussion
Greg resides in Orlando, Florida. Gregs father, an accomplished jazz pianist, brought him up in a household full of music. He has been playing drums since he was young boy. Greg has toured the east coast circut during his music career, his professionalism is second to none. A talented musician of many instruments, Greg likes to write and record in his home project studio. As the newest member of SC, his contribution is a huge asset to this group.
Randy Abshire- bassist
Randy, originally from Eastern Kentucky, is a veteran musician himself. The best word to describe Randy's bass playing ability is "AWESOME"! He has brought something to this group that undoubtedly gave us our signature sound. A talented guitarist himself, Randy is another original band member of SC.
Leroy Mercer- harmonica
Known to most as "Little Bit", Leroy has taken his style of harmonica to great length's. The addition of his playing has brought us full circle in our southern , outlaw country sound. Leroy has worked with several recording artist, including "The Allman Brother's" and "David Allen Coe". Leroy, another original member of SC, moved to North Central Florida from Jacksonville.
Steel Country- the band
This group has evolved from several different backgrounds; Southern Rock, Blues, Country and even some Bluegrass. We believe that's where are variety and diverse sound comes from. If you enjoy the styles of "Skynard, Travis Tritt, SRV, Alan Jackson, The Allman's, Merle Haggard and more, then make it a point to check this band out!
I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with all these guy's the past 6 years, I look foward to many more to come. My hat is off to all of you!!
