Synapses' Collapse

I have no eyes to see you
Long burned away by the beauty wi'in you

I have no lips to taste you
Dry and parched by the salt from my pores

I have no fear of falling from you
If you're all I've known I know all there is

I have no patience to give in to
For I have forever to lose and to give

I have no pride to shun you away
Your humility teaches me to be human again

I have no pain to make me afraid
All disappears with the glance from your eyes

I have no touch to feel you
Anesthetized and trenmbling as synapses collapse

I have no ears to hear your words
Conversing through thought I read all that you are

I have no thought to think you
Full of amazement, and reason far behind

I have no arms to hold you
Pinned to my sides in fear of my darkness

I have no liberty to know such a soul
Clutching so tightly, may it never want more . . .

than that I can give.
