Anvil need no introduction:
The Canadian Metal legend started there career over 20 years ago and as they were one of
the first Metal bands, they never copied anything, but got copied by other bands. 'Plenty
Of Power' is already the 11th release by Anvil who became a bit forgotten after some years of
career, but they took profit of the Metal revival and their last three records already obtained
respectable success. I like very much that they have gone back to their roots and 'Plenty Of
Power' is connecting to milestones like 'Forged In Fire' or 'Metal On Metal', the song I first
came in contact with Anvil. Anvil are now playing straight timeless Heavy Metal, of course full
of clichés, but sounding much more authentic than what lots of the newer bands are playing
nowadays. 'Plenty Of Power' contains a right and variable mixture between faster songs (title track)
and midtempo songs (Computer Drone). My favourite track is of course 'Pro Wrestling', a song of
praise about this great sports entertainment.
